Roxanna Glass Memorial Scholarship for the Arts The Roxanna Glass Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in the fall of 1995 by the friends and family of Roxanna Glass, valedictorian of the 1987 graduating class of Lewis County High School and a West Virginia Scholar. Roxanna graduated in music from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, then pursued her doctorate in music theory from City University of New York (CUNY). At the time of her death, Roxanna was completing the last semester of her course work on her doctorate and was teaching music at Baruch College in NYC. Roxanna was a composer, winning national honors as a young child and writing many pieces while in junior high and high school, as well as in college. This scholarship is designed to encourage and enable students from Lewis County to pursue higher education in the fine arts.
The scholarship fund will not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion, national origin or other similar characteristics.
